Fiction Writing

Here, you’ll find prose of varying lengths and themes, hovering mostly in the space of literary fiction.

‘Fortunate Son’ is an emotionally rich, absorbing piece, narrated by a young man from a warring family. I liked the emotional complexity I found in this story, and was impressed by the writer’s ability to work with the surface of his story-world, in order to reach the depths. The ending is perfect, too!

Praise for Ken’s Fiction Writing

This writing is striking and original, demonstrating an impressive knowledge and understanding of both form and subject matter. It is bold, ambitious, has a cohering principle and it displays quite astonishing stylistic and rhetorical accomplishment.
‘I didn’t know then’ is an outstanding short story. Its strength lies in its wonderfully simple, clean prose to convey the unsaid. What it suggests – beautifully – about its protagonist and his past is engaging and ultimately very poignant.
